The Role
Hampshire Cricket is seeking an experienced and forward thinking Bowling Coach to join our men's coaching team.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing our bowling group, delivering elite level coaching across all formats, and contributing to the overall performance strategy of the squad.
You'll work closely with the Head Coach, Director of Cricket, and support staff to ensure the continued growth and success of Hampshire's bowling unit - from seasoned professionals to emerging talent
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical and tactical coaching of Hampshire's bowling attack across all formats.
- Design and implement training programmes to enhance skills, consistency, and physical readiness.
- Provide detailed performance analysis and match preparation tailored to opposition and conditions. Mentor individual bowlers - supporting technical, tactical, and mental development.
- Collaborate closely with S&C, medical, and performance analysis teams to manage workloads and injury prevention.
- Contribute to talent identification and succession planning through alignment with the Academy and Pathway.
- Uphold Hampshire's high-performance standards, professionalism, and team culture.
About You
You'll be an experienced, passionate coach who combines technical expertise with strong communication and leadership skills.
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Bowling Coach or specialist coach in professional cricket.
- Deep technical and tactical understanding of bowling across all formats.
- ECB Level 4 or equivalent international coaching qualification.
- Ability to analyse performance and communicate effectively with players and staff.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to player welfare, diversity, and safeguarding.
- Experience coaching at county or international level.
- Familiarity with performance analysis and sports science tools.
Place Of Work
The Team are based at Utilita Bowl & Hilton Southampton - Utilita Bowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton, SO30 3XH, however the role will require extensive UK and possible overseas travel.
Hours Of Work
There needs to be a flexible approach to working hours due to the seasonal nature of the role with emphasis on availability during the cricket season and competition schedules.
Salary
Competitive, commensurate with experience.
