Spotlight Sports Group is a global media and technology company specialising in content and data within sports betting, horse racing and fantasy sports. With over 400 employees, the group operates multiple award-winning brands, including Racing Post, the world's largest horse racing affiliate, Pickswise, myracing and Free Super Tips. We partner with leading operators across the betting industry to produce and build multilingual, best-in-class digital products and content to engage and educate customers. ICS-digital, an international marketing agency including ICS-translate, also operates under the group.
Now we're expanding our video and audio team to take that heritage into bold new spaces: high-impact short-form videos, blue-chip podcasts and lively racing and sports panel shows. If you love creating content that informs, entertains and connects fans across every platform, this is your chance to shape the next chapter of an iconic media brand.
This role will be working from our London office 3 days a week and 2 days working from home.
Reports to:
Head Of Audience (UK)
Job Purpose/summary:
As we super-charge our social-first video output, you will lead the production of dynamic, high-impact short-form and long-form video content across our Racing Post social channels and within the wider Spotlight Sports Group network. You'll translate our racing and betting expertise into scroll-stopping social creative, build repeatable formats, optimise across platforms and ensure our content drives both audience growth and monetisation.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end production workflow for social and digital video: from concept and storyboarding, through self-shoot or directed shoot, edit, graphics/subtitles, publishing and optimisation.
- Produce and schedule a daily/week-on-week output of vertical (9:16), square (1:1) and horizontal (16:9) video formats tailored to TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook and X (Twitter).
- Develop, test and iterate new social video formats focused on key racing events, betting insight, pundit commentary and evergreen assets.
Collaborate with editorial colleagues to ensure the social video output aligns with Racing Post's brand voice, journalism standards and responsible gambling guidelines.
Work closely with commercial and partnerships teams to identify and execute monetisation opportunities — including sponsored content, affiliate integrations and contextual advertising.
- Use analytics (views, retention, completion, saves/shares, follower growth) to measure success of each video, draw insights and refine creative, formats and distribution strategies.
- Source, clear and integrate UGC (user-generated content) when appropriate — ensuring rights, credits and media law / copyright compliance.
- Self-shoot or direct shoots on location and in-studio: manage cameras, lighting, audio; brief and work with presenters, experts and talent.
- Coach and mentor junior video producers/editors, provide feedback, set best-practice workflows and maintain production standards.
- Maintain asset libraries, templates and style guides for social video; ensure accessibility (e.g., captions) and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Be available for key racing event coverage including weekends, evenings or travel as required.
Requirements / Skills & Experience:
- Significant experience (minimum 5+ years) producing social-first video content in a newsroom, publisher or sports/media environment.
- Excellent leadership skills and experience managing a team of producers/editors, setting outputs, providing feedback and driving performance.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Proven experience with self-shooting and/or directing video: DSLR or mirrorless cameras, lighting setups, audio capture.
- Deep knowledge of social platforms (TikTok, Instagram/Reels, YouTube/Shorts, Facebook, X), including native tools, scheduling, analytics and best practices for hooks, pacing, thumbnail/caption strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to work at speed — delivering high-quality video under time pressure, especially around live events or breaking stories.
- Strong understanding of media law, copyright, UGC rights clearance, and responsible gambling compliance.
- Excellent organisational skills, planning experience and ability to manage multiple workflows/photoshoots/edits simultaneously.
- Clear, effective communicator across teams (editorial, commercial, marketing, talent) and comfortable briefing/working with presenters and subject-matter experts.
- A passion for horse racing or sports is highly desirable — however strong creative storytelling, social video instincts and format innovation are essential.
What Success Looks Like:
- Measurable growth across social platforms in follower count, engagement (views, shares/saves, watch-through) and monetised video RPM.
- A portfolio of social video formats that can be scaled, reused and adapted across events and seasons.
- Seamless collaboration with editorial, marketing and commercial teams — content that delivers brand impact, audience growth and commercial return.
- Zero compliance or rights issues; video output fully aligned with brand values and responsible gambling standards.
How to Apply:
Please submit your CV, a link to your social-first video reel, plus 2–3 links to videos you have produced which demonstrate your storytelling, growth results (e.g., retention/engagement), and platform optimisation. In your cover letter, tell us one social video series you would launch for Racing Post in the next three months — include format, target platform, audience and how you'd measure success.
