JOB DESCRIPTION - OPTOMETRIST

We are looking to hire a new Optometrist to join the EuroEyes group, which encompasses three London clinics: The Laser Eye Clinic (Knightsbridge), EuroEyes Westfield Clinic (Westfield Shopping Centre), and London Vision Clinic (Harley Street).

The successful candidate will work across all three high-end clinics, seeing pre- and post-operative patients following a range of treatments including Laser Vision Correction (SMILE, LASIK, PRK/LASEK) and lens-based surgery such as ICL and Refractive Lens Exchange (including EDOF, trifocal, and toric IOLs). They will perform comprehensive diagnostic and suitability examinations as part of our world-class clinical team.

Our specialist team includes some of the most experienced doctors and surgeons in the industry, and we are dedicated to providing solutions for anyone who wants freedom from glasses, contact lenses and reading glasses.

This is a rare opportunity to train and work alongside some of the world's most prestigious Ophthalmic Surgeons, including Dr. Jørn Slot Jørgensen (Founder, EuroEyes Group) and Professor Dan Reinstein (Founder, London Vision Clinic) and within a team of highly skilled surgeons, optometrists, and clinical staff.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

This job requires:


• The ability to deal with high stress environments in pro-active manner


• The ability to differentiate between important and urgent tasks, and prioritise and complete multiple tasks


• The need to demonstrate flexibility, including duties, hours of work, breaks, working conditions, working with team members, protocols and procedures, updates in knowledge etc.


• An openness to change, grow, and take on greater levels of responsibility and performance.


• The ability to communicate and interact effectively, calmly and compassionately, during points of contact with patients and staff alike

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS


• Optometrist degree with a valid GOC registration


• Previous experience in refractive surgery – minimum 2 years


• Excellent verbal and written communication


• A self-starter, capable of working within a team with minimal supervision


• Clerical and administrative experience using computers


• Working Knowledge of a simple database application, word, excel, email and Internet


• Excellent problem-solving skills


• Excellent organizational skills


• Experience in conducting comprehensive eye exams and diagnosing vision problems


• Knowledge of pre- and post-operative care for refractive surgeries

DUTIES – DAILY


• Full pre-operative consultation for suitability for laser surgery, cataract, RLEs and ICL's.


• Post-operative consultations


• Diagnostic scanning and training other members of staff


• Analysis of data and clinical diagnostics beyond the consultation


• Report writing


• Patients queries


• Continuous training in refractive eye surgery, and core ophthalmic skills


• Take part in presentations


• Complex patients case management


• Co-management of patients with their surgeons, and other optometrists and nurses.

REPORTING AND LOCATION

Reporting: You will report to the Clinic Manager.

WORKING HOURS

40 hours a week between the hours 08:00-20:00, Monday - Saturday
