The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join as a Cloud FinOps Lead within the Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) line of business. The primary focus for this role is to maximize the business value of our cloud expenditure, providing insightful reports and analytics, improving financial accountability and collaborating across technology and business teams.

The Responsibilities

  • You will be the go-to expert for all things FinOps, advising teams on best practices, cost optimization strategies, new service adoption and lead the FinOps working group.
  • Drive cost efficiency, analyzing cloud spending, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing solutions to maximize our return on investment.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Finance to align Cloud usage with business goals and drive cloud-related project and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide comprehensive training and documentation to empower teams to manage their own cloud resources effectively.
  • Continuously research and evaluate new Azure services and features to identify opportunities for innovation and cost optimization.
  • Develop and implement FinOps frameworks, including policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Create metrics, financial dashboards and reports, providing insights and forecasts to technical teams as well as senior leadership
  • Conduct regular FinOps maturity assessments to drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in cloud cost management and FinOps.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including leadership.

Qualifications
The Requirements

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in cloud cost management and FinOps principles, experience in Azure strongly preferred and containerized environments beneficial.
  • Experience with rolling out FinOps related strategies in large scale organizations.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization practices, such as instance rightsizing or workload optimization.
  • Strong reporting, problem-solving and analytical abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Proven hands-on experience in Power BI, or similar tools, and data integration techniques.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, meaningful visual insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and drive financial accountability within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification is advantageous.
