The role

As a Senior SHE Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of driving safety excellence across one of the UK's most complex and critical engineering environments. You'll lead initiatives that protect people, enhance operational safety and support national defence projects. This is a role where your expertise will make a tangible difference - not just to our business, but to society.

Day-to-day, you'll be:

  • Leading and supporting SHE improvement initiatives across the business
  • Implementing and maintaining SHE policies and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
  • Advising operational teams on safety processes and best practices
  • Conducting inspections, audits and investigations to ensure compliance
  • Developing and delivering SHE awareness sessions and reports

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Senior SHE Coordinator

  • Extensive H&S experience in a hazardous industry (e.g. construction, heavy manufacturing)
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • SHE auditing experience
  • Strong passion for safety, health, and environment demonstrated through previous roles

Qualifications for the Senior SHE Coordinator

  • NEBOSH/NVQ Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (or equivalent Level 6+)
  • Leadership and SHE auditing qualifications (desirable)
  • Ambition to achieve Chartered status with IOSH or similar professional body (advantageous)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
