Role Profile

Wincanton is recruiting for a Class 2 HIAB Driver to join our team working on the Wickes contract based in Yeovil.

  • Hourly Rate: £15.24 before bonus
  • Annual Salary: £30,900 plus achievable legal compliance bonus of £1,920
  • Hours: 39 hours per week (annualised contract of 2,028 hours per year)
  • Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (5 days)
  • Overtime: Sixth shift available during peak season (Saturday)
  • Start Time: 07:00
  • Training: ALLMI training provided for suitable candidates without a HIAB licence
  • Experience: Inexperienced drivers will be considered

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurate and timely multi-drop and direct delivery of customer products
  • Adhering to safe working practices to ensure safety for yourself and others
  • Flexibility with start times based on business needs
  • Compliance with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive legislation
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the truck
Experience and Qualifications
  • Valid Class 2 licence
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Full Driver Qualification Card (Driver CPC)
  • HIAB licence (ALLMI or equivalent) is an advantage but not essential
  • Previous customer-facing experience is an advantage
  • Positive and flexible attitude
  • Good timekeeping and ability to work unsupervised
