Overview

As a Principal Officer, you will play a key leadership role in managing and coordinating the core operations of the organization. You will be responsible for implementing policies, ensuring compliance, guiding teams, and supporting strategic initiatives.   • Oversee daily administrative and operational functions to ensure smooth workflow across departments.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor organizational policies, procedures, and strategies.
  • Lead and supervise team members, providing guidance, motivation, and performance feedback.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present reports to senior management for planning and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and institutional requirements.
  • Coordinate meetings, projects, and communications between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to meet organizational objectives efficiently.
  • Identify operational risks and implement strategies for improvement and sustainability.

Essential Requirements

  • Must be a qualified Environmental Health Officer (EHO) with either:
  • MSc or BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health, or
  • Diploma in Environmental Health awarded by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) or an equivalent body.
  • Registered with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and eligible to practice.
  • Demonstrated evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) and/or membership of a professional body.
  • Sound understanding of environmental health legislation, public health policies, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in preparing reports, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Strong ability to assess risks, provide technical advice, and enforce environmental standards.
  • Excellent communication, investigation, and decision-making skills.
