The Red House is a luxury retirement village, home to 59 private apartments and leisure facilities spread across beautiful, landscaped parkland on the outskirts of Ripon.

The Role - Duty Manager

We are looking to recruit someone to support our existing 4-person Duty Manager team and take responsibility for the day-to-day activities of the Village and provide our Apartment Owners with the highest level of service.

Your duties will include:

· Managing a team of colleagues including General Assistants, Chefs and a Handy Person

· Working with the General Manager to develop and manage a quality hospitality offering in our restaurant and bar

· Developing, planning and managing events for Owners

· Deputising for the General Manager in their absence

· Co-ordinating building maintenance and carrying out health and safety checks

Please note that personal care is not provided by our Team to Owners and is not a requirement of the role.

Hours:

As part of a team of 4 Duty Managers you would work an average of 28 hours per week, comprising a 4-day rolling shift system: a Day Shift, an Evening Shift, and two days off. The evening shift includes a sleepover until the following morning and an allowance of £50.50 is paid for each sleepover. There are an average of 8 sleepovers per month.

The basic salary and sleepover allowance brings an annual salary of around £25,000. With additional hours to help with events and provide holiday cover for colleagues this can rise to £28,000.

Requirements:

· Experienced in a customer focused environment such as retail or hospitality is desirable, however we do welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to work both as part of a team and independently

· A DBS check is mandatory for this role.
