Drug & Alcohol Recovery Support worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Drug & alcohol Recovery Nurse to work within the developing Drug & alcohol Service within the beautiful rural location of Lochaber.
You should be able to work in a creative and compassionate way, under guidance from the wider DARS team and CMHT Lead. This is to provide high quality support to people who present with Drug and Alcohol issues and addictions to A and E/Police Colleagues/GPs within your locality. The successful candidate will be support individuals who use alcohol and/or drugs. Working at Level 3 within the NES NMAHP Career Development Framework providing 1:1 guided support, group work, and sign posting to other services under the supervision of senior nursing staff. The Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service provides support to any individual who uses alcohol and/ or drugs, or to others looking for advice in supporting a family member/friend. The service also provides specialist Harm Reduction advice and injecting equipment to this client group. The service allows access to a client group who would otherwise be extremely difficult to access, providing an opportunity to address health issues as well as drug/alcohol and harm reduction issues.
The successful candidates will be motivated in working within this field to deliver a responsive person centred, high quality care response. Multi-disciplinary working and communication is essential to this post and the post holder will be required to build excellent working relationships with our partners such as police colleagues and A and E departments, and GPs to facilitate safe discharge plans. There will also be an expectation of supporting the delivery of training to these partner agencies as indicated.
This post will require the successful person to provide a vital supporting role to the other DARS practitioners and the wider MDT.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate effective multi-disciplinary working and feel confident in working as an integral member of the extended care team to ensure safe and effective care within the community.
