EVENTS & PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER
(MATERNITY COVER)
We're looking for an Events & Partnerships Manager to join the team at Macknade on a full-time maternity cover contract.
Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director, this is a hands-on role for a confident, organised and commercially-minded events professional who thrives on creating memorable experiences and bringing communities together around food & drink.
You'll play a key role in planning and delivering our annual events calendar - from intimate wine tastings to our flagship Beer & BBQ Festival - working cross-functionally to ensure every event reflects Macknade's values and delivers both revenue and profit.
This role is perfect for someone who's as comfortable rolling up their sleeves to deliver events as they are building and managing strategic partnerships.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning & Delivery
- Lead the development and delivery of Macknade's public events calendar, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, revenue and profit targets.
- Plan, co-ordinate and deliver events of all scales, actively participating in on-the-ground event delivery to ensure the highest levels of service and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to launch and promote events, driving attendance and engagement across multiple channels.
- Oversee all private and corporate event bookings, managing proposals, quotations, and delivery to the highest standard.
People & Partnerships
- Manage and nurture relationships with key clients and partners, fostering long-term collaborations that grow revenue and profit.
- Handle all inbound enquiries for events, experiences & bespoke hampers, ensuring timely follow-up, and taking them from quote to completion.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell across Macknade's portfolio and maximise the value of every relationship.
- Work closely with the operational teams and buyers to create event packages & menus that are up to date & profitable.
- Lead, motivate and support the operational teams to ensure the seamless delivery of events, experiences & bespoke hampers.
Community & Customer Service
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop and grow our loyalty programme - the Macknade Community Scheme - building a calendar of exclusive experiences & events that drive cardholder engagement and spend.
- Act as a key point of contact for customer service at Macknade, ensuring all feedback and complaints are managed promptly, professionally and followed through to a resolution.
WHO ARE YOU
You're a dynamic, detail-oriented events professional who takes pride in creating experiences that bring people together. You love being part of the action - from planning and pitching ideas to setting up tables and greeting guests - and you know that the smallest details make the biggest difference.
You're commercially minded and thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment where no two days are the same. Most importantly, you're driven by a love of great food and drink and a desire to create events and experiences that bring our brand, our producers and their stories to life.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCES & QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in an events or administration role, ideally within food, drink, hospitality or retail.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver and oversee multiple events simultaneously.
- A hands-on approach, with experience working operationally during events.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively.
- Excellent relationship management skills and a track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and delivering revenue & profit targets.
- A confident communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work autonomously and on your own initiative – self-motivated, proactive and confident making decisions.
- Knowledgeable and passionate about great food & drink
The role is 42.5 hours per week and will include some evening and weekend work. The salary is between £30,000 and £35,000 depending on experience.
