Something big is brewing in Birmingham The Waterside Tap (previously Bistro Pierre) has recently been purchased by Joule's Brewery marking the start of a long and exciting journey ahead

Our doors will open on Wednesday 22nd October, with our kitchen opening the following week. The first phase of the project will be modest... gradually building our team, identity and offering over the course of the coming months to allow us time to truly get under the rug in our new venue and become a part of the community.

Phase two however will be anything but modest Our doors will temporarily close in January 2027 and will reopen a few months later following full refurbishment, transforming The Waterside Tap into a vibrant, community - driven pub that celebrates, good food, great beer, warm welcomes, and true hospitality.

The Opportunity

We are assembling a brand new team to bring this vision to life. Whether you're a seasoned hospitality pro or at the early stages of your career, this could be your opportunity to be a part of something huge and join the journey from the beginning.

As a part of the team you'll:

  • Play a key role in launching an exciting new city centre venue
  • Help deliver outstanding customer service
  • Promote freshly made, local produce and Joule's Shropshire beer

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate front of house operations, ensuring smooth service during busy periods.
  • Train and mentor staff in hospitality best practices, food preparation, and serving techniques.
  • Manage team schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak times.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the dining area.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies regarding food production.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality control of food items.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and leadership among staff.
  • Be responsibile for opening, closing and maintaining the site.

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
  • Someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and team-focused.
  • Someone with a true understanding of what hospitality is.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £13.50-£14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 45 per week
