CNC Specials Milling – Setter/Operator role – 3 Shifts (AM/PM/NIGHTS)

Full Time/39 hours per week, Permanent

Schedule 8-hour shift with 20 min paid break

Nottingham, UK, NG10 area

Due to strong order books & continued growth an opportunity has arisen to join the specials milling department within a world renowned manufacturer of pharmaceutical tooling. Setting and operating 3&4 axis CNC milling machinery in a fast paced precision engineering environment. The department runs at a fast rate producing small batches and one off pieces to exacting tolerances.

Roles & Responsibilities

· Set & Operate 3&4 axis CNC milling equipment. Haas & Mori Seiki machines using Fanuc interface

· Machining tool steels both hard and soft (up to 65Hrc)

· Use of Renishaw spindle probes to set workshifts/datums

· Read & interpret technical drawings. Manufacture parts to tolerances of 0.001mm

· Take precise in process measurements using a range of measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, plug gauges etc.)

· Maintain a clean workstation & adhere to 5S standards

· Ensure that all operations adhere to safety & quality protocols

· Periodic tool changes during production in order maintain quality

Key Performance Indicators

· Excellent product quality

· Daily throughput targets

· Reduced scrap value & NCR's

· Adapt with business growth & sales plan

Key Skills

· Experienced setter/operator on CNC milling equipment (preferably apprentice trained)

· Self motivated & able to work independently

· Experience of programming, with an understanding of G&M codes

· Experience of Edgecam software is an advantage

· Be competent at running small workpieces to a high quality

· Can maintain tight machining tolerances

· Strong communication skills and timekeeping
