The Role
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will work closely with stakeholders across the UK business and act as a trusted adviser on a wide spectrum of financial regulatory issues, supported by colleagues both in the UK and across the wider global network. This is a high quality, varied role offering visibility over key strategic initiatives at the core of the organisation's UK operations, within a culture that genuinely values collaboration, professional development and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on all aspects of UK financial regulation, including FSMA, the PRA Rulebook, the FCA Handbook and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Supporting matters relating to regulated activities, investment and payment services, and questions around the regulatory perimeter.
- Monitoring, analysing and interpreting developments in UK financial regulation and assimilated EU law.
- Providing legal input on new products and services, and managing external counsel on specialist matters where required.
- Delivering internal training and contributing to policy development to support effective management of legal and regulatory risk.
About You
- A common law qualified lawyer with experience gained at a leading law firm, ideally complemented by in-house experience within a financial services environment.
- Strong technical expertise in UK financial services regulation, including knowledge of EU derived and assimilated regulations.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex workstreams and competing priorities.
- A proactive, solutions-focused team player with strong stakeholder management capabilities.
