Lead Full-Stack Engineer – Remote - £80,000 + Bonus

  • Location: Remote (UK Based, with occasional visits to Milton Keynes)
  • Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + 5% Bonus & 5% Pension

Our client is an S&P500 listed powerhouse, focused on developing cutting-edge software across five development teams. While most teams are based in Milton Keynes, this role is fully remote with occasional on-site collaboration encouraged.

As a Lead Java/Kafka & React Engineer, you will work closely with technical leads within a full-scale Agile environment. You will be the standard-bearer for code quality, guiding best practices, and mentoring junior developers. This role focuses primarily on Java (Kafka) and React.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality, scalable code in Java and React.
  • Set coding standards, best practices, and guide the technical direction of the team.
  • Mentor and support junior developers in their professional growth.
  • Contribute as an individual technical expert—no line management responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with multiple development teams on solutions.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Java and React.
  • Experience with Kafka and building SaaS products.
  • Familiarity with security protocols and processes.
  • Exposure to B2B applications or highly configurable products.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Tech-agnostic mindset with curiosity to explore multiple stacks.
  • Ability to influence and improve code quality across teams.
  • Keen interest in architectural design, with progression opportunities toward Development Manager, Technical Lead, or Architect roles.
