About the roleYou will be part of the recently awarded EPSRC Programme Grant on Advancing Parallel Mesh Generation and Geometry Representation to Enable Industrially Relevant, High-Fidelity Simulations, contributing to the development of parallel mesh generation technologies which will support the next generation of high-fidelity modelling on exascale computing platforms.
What you would be doingYou will be developing novel algorithms to enable highly parallel mesh generation to enable complex-geometry industrial simulations with unprecedented fidelity on the latest high-performance computing platforms. Your work will contribute towards solving cutting-edge engineering challenges in areas such as Formula 1, Turbomachinery and Nuclear Fusion. You will also be collaborating with experts in the field from across the UK.
What we are looking for- Enthusiastic individuals with a passion for scientific computing.
- Background and experience in high-order finite element methods and C++ code development.
- Desire to work collaboratively and across disciplines.
Research Associate: Hold a PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience
Research Assistant: A first/masters degree (or equivalent) Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience
- Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant.
