Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and stimulating Physics lessons (KS3, KS4): Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, incorporating interactive experiments, demonstrations, and real-world applications of physics.
- Foster a love of Physics: Inspire students to develop a passion for physics, encouraging them to explore scientific concepts, ask questions, and engage in scientific inquiry.
- Contribute to curriculum development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the Physics curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the National Curriculum and incorporates the latest advancements in physics education.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods: Employ a range of teaching strategies to engage students with different learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
- Build positive student relationships: Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to learn.
- Take on additional responsibilities (TLR): Contribute to the leadership and management of the Physics department by taking on a specific area of responsibility, such as leading on assessment, coordinating resources, or mentoring colleagues.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Physics Teacher with a proven track record: Possess a recognized teaching qualification and demonstrate a successful track record of teaching Physics at the secondary level.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Physics: Demonstrate a deep understanding of physics concepts, theories, and practical applications. Share your passion for the subject and inspire students to explore the wonders of physics.
- Strong pedagogical skills and ability to cater to diverse learners: Employ a variety of teaching strategies to engage students with different learning styles and abilities, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills: Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents, building strong relationships and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Commitment to high standards and creating a positive learning environment: Set high expectations for student learning and behavior, fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment where students feel motivated to learn and achieve their full potential.
