Architectural Technician (AutoCAD)

£35,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience)

An established architectural practice based in Tewkesbury is looking for an experienced Architectural Technician to join their team. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of retrofit and commercial remodelling projects, with a focus on practical design, technical delivery, and quality detailing.

The Role

You'll be working as part of a small, collaborative team on the refurbishment, retrofit, and reconfiguration of commercial buildings – including offices, industrial units, and mixed-use spaces. The role will involve:

  • Producing high-quality technical drawings and detailed packages using AutoCAD
  • Supporting projects through RIBA Stages 3–5
  • Conducting site surveys and preparing existing/proposed plans
  • Coordinating with contractors and consultants to ensure buildability and compliance
  • Contributing to design development, specifications, and construction documentation

About You

  • Proficient in AutoCAD (essential)
  • Experience in commercial projects such as offices, retail, or light industrial
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing
  • Confident producing working drawings and tender packages
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ideally familiar with retrofit or refurbishment schemes
