Job description

Kensington Sash is a specialist in sash window restoration, repair, and installation. We work across period and heritage properties, delivering high-quality craftsmanship with a focus on detail, authenticity, and durability. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Sash Window Specialist to join our professional team.

The Role

As a Sash Window Specialist, you will be responsible for carrying out the full range of sash window services, including restoration, overhaul, draught-proofing, and installation of new joinery. This is a practical, hands-on role requiring strong technical ability and attention to detail, working on-site at residential and commercial properties across London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake restoration, repair, and draught-proofing of traditional timber sash windows
  • Carry out full or partial replacements, ensuring accuracy of fit and finish
  • Install new sashes, glazing, ironmongery, and draught-proofing systems
  • Conduct adjustments to weights, cords, and pulleys to ensure smooth window operation
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service on every project
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team on larger restoration projects
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and site standards

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience working with sash windows (restoration, repair, or installation)
  • Strong carpentry/joinery skills with knowledge of heritage timber windows
  • Experience fitting glazing, hardware, and draught-proofing systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt to site conditions
  • Full UK driving licence preferred, but not essential
