Overview

Refresh Café is a thriving, bustling cafe situated in the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Park, Guildford. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Batista/Café Assistant (over 18 years of age) to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our café. This position involves a variety of tasks, preparing excellent quality coffees, serving customers, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. A passion for food and coffee is essential, along with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards
  • Operate coffee machines and prepare various coffee drinks, ensuring high-quality presentation
  • Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering queries
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment
  • Handle cash transactions accurately using basic math skills
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
  • Manage time effectively to balance multiple tasks while maintaining quality service

Experience

  • Previous experience in a café or similar environment is highly desirable, particularly barista experience
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Experience in food preparation is an advantage
  • Excellent time management skills to handle peak hours efficiently
