: Samenua Sesher, Museum of Colour Director

: Emily Crouch, Project Development Producer

*Hours of work:

You will arrange the times and dates on which you work, with Samenua Sesher, Director. You will give reasonable notice to the team of your availability with the MoC diary to enable the project to be successfully completed, enable MoC meetings to include your attendance as necessary, and for you to support the overall project. The majority of your working time can be self-scheduled but you will be required to be in attendance at key meetings and public moments of the programme.

Responsibilities/ duties for press:

-      Develop a communications plan to outline planned comms and marketing activity to be delivered during the project to support Test Card activities and aims.

-      Develop partner-specific messaging and content to support Test Card activities and aims and ensure consistency of messages across MoC and partner/funder channels.

-      Support partners and funder communications activity, acting as the key point of contact and providing assets for them to use in their promotion and across their channels.

-      Develop a Press releases, media contacts and briefings and inviting relevant journalists, including specialist/trade press, to the talks and launches to also help garner coverage.

-      Similarly for the agents of the tv actors, screen writers, producers etc who feature in the portraits and to ensure that they promote the project.

-      Ensure the press and social media plans feed into each other so there is no duplication but maximising all comms.

-      Identify existing and required key messaging.

-      Look at existing and available communications channels.

Responsibilities/ duties for brand and marketing:

-      Draft and create core copy, messaging and assets that can be used across the project and to support Test Card events and activities, identifying 'calls to action' where appropriate.

-      Managing the design, print and distribution (as appropriate) of branded print and digital media

-      Draft copy for a landing page for the MoC information microsite on Test Card, and for a MoC 'What's On' page.

-      Use all channels including owned and earned to reach and engage audiences and manage Test Card activity on all MoC social media channels

-      Identify, develop, capture and report reach and engagement metrics, including for partner communications, as agreed with MoC team.

-      Connect with artists involved in Test Card and previous exhibition, Keeping it Real, A Very British Rhythm, My Words, to amplify and share social media posts.

Responsibilities/ duties for Strategy and planning:

-      Working with the Director and Project development Producer to maintain and update the Communications Strategy, advising on key narratives, the best modes of communications and target audiences.

-      Providing strategic advice and guidance on communications to the Director, including on crisis communications and reputational risk management

-      Maintaining a communications calendar, coordinating external facing activities across the Companies's work and considering appropriate opportunities to promote them.

-      Reporting on all matters relating to communications at weekly staff team meeting

-      Keeping updated on communication issues within the sectors covered by the relevant funding areas and providing updates/advice to the office

Person Specification

Essential

-      At least two years' experience working in digital communications

-      Experience working with the press and in publicity

-      Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and appropriate manner to project partners and funders

-      Experience of producing effective print and online communications e.g drafting press releases, reports, and proposals

-      Ability to manage varied and high volume workloads under pressure

-      Ability to present information appropriately and to maintain a high level of accuracy and consistent attention to detail

-      Ability to think strategically

-      Demonstrable planning and project management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines

-      High level of spoken and written English

-      Excellent written and oral communication skills

-      The ability to work flexibly and prioritise tasks

-      The ability to work independently, with a high level of individual responsibility

-      Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, Adobe, Teams and Zoom)

-      Enthusiasm for the activities undertaken by Museum of Colour

Desirable

-      Experience of working in the Arts of Heritage sector

-      Experience of brand management

-      Knowledge and experience of how to measure and analyse performance of digital content.

-      Experience of producing content for social and digital channels
