We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Neighbourhood Warden team in the East district
.
It is a varied and satisfying role where you will work in the heart of neighbourhoods, regularly patrolling, identifying and reporting any areas that could be improved or need maintenance. This will include carrying out cleaning and some minor repairs, helping to reduce crime and build better communities.
You Will Be Responsible For
- Instilling local confidence and promoting a positive image for the area.
- Making sure that a neighbourhood is kept clean and tidy and looks well cared for.
- Assisting in providing a safe and well-maintained environment in the area, to improve the quality of life for all residents.
- Directly engaging with children, youths and the community in general. Participating in and leading regular events and projects as directed by Housing Services management.
- Monitoring and reporting upon block/neighbourhood services provided, working in close partnership with other divisions and agencies.
- Assisting in the promotion of Community Safety, environmental improvements and contributing to community development.
- Assisting other City Council staff in fostering/developing representative tenant groups in the area and attending group meetings if required.
- Assisting in the promotion of responsible citizenship in respect of litter, dog fouling and related issues.
To be successful in the role, you will need to have a keen eye for health and safety.
This is a 37-hour-per-week full-time contract, which falls within Grade 7 of Southampton City Council's pay grades. This will equate to an annual salary of £32,061 - £36,362 (Based on working a five-day week, not weekends). The fixed working patterns will be Monday – Friday.
