Production Planner

Howdens are looking for a Production Planner based at our Howden Manufacturing site, East Yorkshire. In this role you will be part of a team who are responsible for the production scheduling of WIP and or finished goods for all work centres on site and will effectively manage production orders for all processes.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Planning Manager, your role is to ensure SAP, MRP and APO planning systems are always up to date for the raw material and operational teams.
As a Production Planner, you will need to ensure that the teams have a reliable view of planned production and outbound delivery schedules. You will also be responsible for ensuring production plans are in line with demand and customer expectations and will report operational performance against the agreed plans.
What do I need to qualify for the Production Planner Role:
- Experience using a SAP planning system or knowledge of MRP and multi-level bill of material structure products
- Experience in a planning role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to operate effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers
- Effective decision making and influencing skills
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel
- An APICS "Basics of Supply Chain Management" or similar professional qualification (this is not essential)
