Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our childcare team based next to the Headingley Train Station.

The successful candidate must be LEVEL 3 QUALIFIED and will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills within a dynamic early childhood education setting.

Duties

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development
  • Supervise and support children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
  • Monitor individual progress and provide feedback to parents during regular meetings
  • Assist with the organisation of daily routines and special events within the nursery or childcare setting
  • Support new staff or interns through mentoring and guidance to ensure high standards of childcare are maintained

Skills

  • Proven experience with children, preferably within nursery or early childhood education environments
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Knowledge of EYFS and early childhood development principles, and nursery practices
  • Organisational skills to plan activities efficiently whilst managing multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach towards young children

Pay: £12.75-£13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
