Job Purpose:

As the LEUK CRCM, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of the Company's pre-contract tender submissions, contracts risk management, contracts risk assessment and commercial negotiations. The role will require effective planning and due diligence, preparation and timely engagement with relevant stakeholders across Lucy Group to minimise critical contract risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and Lucy Group's corporate governance and process requirements.

Business Overview:

Lucy Electric is an international leader in intelligent secondary power distribution products and solutions, with features such as remote operation and monitoring. Linking energy generation to consumption, the business specialises in high-performance medium and low-voltage switchgear for utility, industrial and commercial applications.

Job Context:

The LEUK CRCM will be able to evidence strong analytical skills, a detailed understanding of the key principles of contract law and demonstrable commercial experience of dealing with complex / high profile contract management activity and providing clear, robust advice and support to key internal stakeholders in dealing with complex commercial issues relating to their contract portfolio.

Job Dimensions:

The LEUK CRCM will report directly to the LEUK General Manager, with focus on the LEUK business and contracts. The LEUK CRCM will become a member of Lucy Group's global Contract Risk Managers' Team, which is overseen and managed by the Group Head of Legal, to whom the role holder will report on a functional dotted-line basis with regard to all operational and contract risk issues. The LEUK CRCM will be required to liaise with the various LEUK senior management team and Group functional heads.

Note: the role will report temporarily to the Group Head of Legal for up to six months for operational reasons

Key Accountabilities:

  • Meet challenging deadlines while maintaining accuracy and consistency in the creation of documentation.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure timely communication of relevant contract information as required.
  • Attend regular meetings with and provide regular written reports and updates to the Commercial Contracts Director and the Group Head of Legal regarding the status of all pending and current contract reviews and negotiations.
  • Lead on all contract reviews, negotiations, and implementation of contract variations, with a focus always on minimizing contract and business risk.
  • Refer all matters that may have an impact on contract or business risk from a financial, tax, accounting or legal standpoint to the Company's corporate finance and legal teams (as appropriate) for guidance and support.
  • Ensure that all internal contract review and approval procedures are followed in line with legislation and the Company's internal approval processes and policies;
  • Ensure that all contract documentation and related communications remain accessible to and auditable by the Company's internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure that all key contract documentation following signature is stored securely in the Company's central contracts repository.
  • Identify and refer any potential issues and disputes with contractual counterparties to the Group legal team for guidance.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

Minimum:

  • Extensive commercial contracts management experience in a technical/similar industry.
  • Experience of providing commercial support and guidance to exports to overseas countries.
  • Extensive international contract law knowledge and experience.
  • Experience of managing and implementing processes, projects and change initiatives.
  • Experience of negotiating large scale contracts within a complex and regulated environment
  • Experience of strategic procurement and delivery
  • Experience of dealing with complex demand challenges in a complex operational environment
  • Experience working and effectively influencing senior stakeholders with or without authority
  • Experience of managing and collaborating in a diverse workforce including non-direct reports
  • Writing submissions and briefings
