Overview

Are you passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences? The Banc, an established fine dining restaurant in the heart of North London, is seeking a Front of House Host/ess to join our welcoming and professional team.

As the first point of contact for our guests, you'll embody the warmth, poise, and efficiency that defines our service. From welcoming guests with a genuine smile to managing reservations and supporting the front of house team, your role is key to delivering seamless, five-star experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat guests in a professional and friendly manner
  • Manage table reservations and coordinate seating plans
  • Answer phone calls and emails with professionalism, assisting with inquiries and taking reservations.
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen and wait staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Provide assistance to guests as needed, ensuring their needs are met throughout their visit.
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns with grace and professionalism, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Provide accurate wait times and monitor guest flow
  • Support the front of house team during busy service periods
  • Maintain the elegance and cleanliness of the reception and dining areas
  • Deliver exceptional guest service at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a host/hostess or front of house role (minimum 2 years)
  • Strong phone etiquette and communication skills are crucial for effective guest interaction.
  • A genuine desire to help others and provide outstanding guest services.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Impeccable presentation and excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in reservation systems (e.g. SevenRooms/OpenTable)
