Product Marketing Manager
Department: Revenue Operations
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: Bristol, UK
Compensation: GBP 65,000 - GBP 85,000 / year
Description
We're building the UK's next generation engineering powerhouse, providing critical technology that strengthens national security and resilience.
At Rowden, we design and integrate advanced systems and products that sense, connect, and protect data in challenging environments where quick decisions are vital. Our solutions use intelligent automation to enhance speed and efficiency and are built to be reliable and straightforward for critical operations in remote or high-pressure settings.
Headquartered in Bristol (UK), we combine modern engineering methods with cutting-edge commercial technology to create adaptable, mission-critical systems. We focus on solving the tough challenges that others overlook, ensuring our customers can operate effectively in an ever-changing world.
Rowden is entering an exciting phase of growth, extending its footprint across European markets and dual-use sectors while advancing new product lines in sensing and networking technologies. These systems are redefining how operators and governments collect, manage, and act on data at the edge.
We're looking for a proven Product Marketing Manager to define how these capabilities are positioned, understood, and adopted. You'll help turn complex technical systems into clear, compelling value stories that drive growth across defence, intelligence, and dual-use sectors such as emergency services. This is a technical, creative, and highly collaborative role within the Marketing team, working closely with Product, Sales, and Engineering.
Location: The role is UK-based, with hybrid working. Regular travel to Bristol is required. Candidates must be eligible for SC clearance.
Your Mission
You'll be the link between engineering excellence and market impact, ensuring Rowden's products are communicated with clarity, technical depth, and purpose.
You'll own how our products are represented in the market: developing positioning frameworks, messaging, and go-to-market material that sharpen how we compete and win. Working across Product, Sales, and Engineering, you'll bring coherence, insight, and creativity to how Rowden tells its story and delivers customer value.
What you'll do
- Translate complexity. Understand and communicate how Rowden's sensing, networking, and device management technologies work together to deliver operational resilience, turning deep technical capability into stories that resonate with engineers, operators, and decision-makers.
- Build the technical story. Create scalable, technically rich content for our sales and government affairs teams that helps customers, partners, and governments engage with our product families and reflects the real substance of our business.
- Understand the market and how we fit. Build a deep understanding of markets, users, and competitors across defence, national security, and other dual use industries, crafting product narratives that make Rowden's capabilities stand apart and drive relevance across new verticals.
- Work with design to make complexity visual. Partner with designers and engineers to represent our systems clearly - deployments, user workflows, integration points - through diagrams, animations, and visual assets that make complex ideas tangible.
- Deliver a coherent experience across every medium. Support how Rowden shows up at events, in digital campaigns, through print materials, and across our owned media platforms. Ensure every channel tells the same credible, technically grounded story of what we build and why it matters.
- 4+ years in product or solution marketing within technology, engineering, or defence/security sectors.
- Proven ability to craft and articulate value propositions for complex technical products.
- Strong analytical skills and experience conducting market and competitor analysis.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills - comfortable communicating to both technical and executive audiences.
- Experience working with creative and design functions to translate concepts into compelling visuals, campaigns, and assets that bring ideas to life.
- Familiarity with government or B2G procurement environments advantageous.
- Pragmatic, organised, and confident working in a fast-growing company where systems and playbooks are still being built.
- Mission-focused: You care about the end user and the impact of technology in real operational settings.
- Technical fluency: You understand complex systems and can communicate them simply.
- Curious and analytical: You thrive on understanding markets, customers, and competition.
- Creative and hands-on: You combine strategic thinking with the ability to execute quickly.
- Collaborative: You work across teams and disciplines to build shared understanding and momentum.
We are committed to building a flexible, inclusive, and enabling company. Our aim is to create a diverse team of talented people with unique skills, experience, and backgrounds, so please apply and come as you are
We also recognise the importance of flexible working and support this wherever we can. We typically operate a flexible, hybrid-working model, with an average 3 days in the office each week (dependent on the role). We welcome the opportunity to discuss flexibility, part-time working requirements and/or workplace adjustments with all our applicants.
Rowden is a Disability Confident Committed company, and we actively encourage people with disabilities and health conditions to apply for our roles. Please let us know your requirements early on so that we can make sure you have everything you need up front to help make the recruitment process and experience as easy as possible.
Finally, if you feel that you don't meet all the criteria included above but have transferable skills and relevant experience, we'd still love to hear from you
