About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Operations Supervisor to join our School Meals Service team at Riverside Catering. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality catering services across a portfolio of primary and secondary schools.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving service standards, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. A typical day will involve visiting kitchen sites, liaising with catering staff, problem-solving, and organising resources to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee catering operations across multiple school sites.
  • Ensure compliance with School Food Standards, Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Fire Legislation.
  • Manage stock control systems and monitor food budgets effectively.
  • Recruit, supervise, and support staff development through training and performance reviews (PDRs).
  • Conduct workplace observations and maintain service quality.
  • Utilise ICT systems for reporting and communication.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Significant experience in large-scale catering, including food preparation and cooking.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and school food standards.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and stock control.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in ICT applications including Word, Excel, and email.
