Kennedy Pearce are partnered with a leading international bank to hire an Application Support Analyst for their London office. This role sits within a small but highly capable 2nd line support team, responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of a range of bespoke and business-critical applications. It offers strong technical variety, exposure across the bank, and the opportunity to take real ownership within a regulated environment.
The Role
The Application Support Analyst will manage incidents, service requests, system alerts, and change activity across a suite of custom-built applications. You will work closely with internal teams, external vendors, Kuwait-based IT counterparts, and senior business stakeholders to ensure all issues are resolved within SLA and that platforms remain stable, secure, and continuously improved.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve application-related incidents, alerts, and service requests within SLA
- Develop deep technical knowledge of the organisation's applications, databases, and platform stack
- Escalate complex issues to 3rd line teams and external suppliers, ensuring clear ownership and follow-through
- Lead and coordinate incident management activity, including stakeholder communication
- Investigate and act on system alerts, preventing service impact wherever possible
- Support production deployments, change processes, and post-release validation
- Create and maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting documentation
- Drive service improvements, automation opportunities, and small enhancement projects
- Escalate risks, vulnerabilities, and any potential SLA breaches
- Adhere to internal processes across incident management, change control, and risk mitigation
Essential Experience
- Background in an application support role, ideally within financial services or another regulated environment
- Experience supporting bespoke / custom-built applications, particularly on Windows Server environments
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
- PowerShell, SFTP, and WinSCP for automation and secure file transfers
- Familiarity with monitoring and APM tools (e.g., Datadog)
- Understanding of security protocols including Entra ID
- Experience with version control tools such as Git
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
- Broad technical versatility and strong problem-solving skills
- High levels of collaboration and stakeholder engagement
Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server
- Previous experience in financial services
- Knowledge of ITIL
