About the Role
The British Museum is seeking a Curator to provide maternity cover for the museum's collections of objects from late medieval Europe, circa
About You
We're looking for someone educated to degree level in a relevant humanities subject, ideally with postgraduate experience. You'll bring hands-on experience working with historical objects and a solid understanding of artefacts from the Late Medieval period.
Experience in cataloguing, display, publication, and public engagement, such as lectures, gallery talks, or media appearances, is highly desirable too

Key Areas of Responsibility
- Support the care, conservation, and display of Late Medieval collections
- Document and digitise collections to a high standard, including cataloguing and image management
- Increase public access to collections through exhibitions, digital platforms, and public engagement
- Provide expert advice on loans, Treasure Act finds, and funding applications
- Collaborate with internal and external partners and respond to public enquiries
