BI Developer

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom Superdry Full time £40,000 - £85,000 per year

The Role

We're looking for a BI Developer who enjoys turning complex data into trusted, decision-ready insight. You'll join a collaborative Data team that supports stakeholders across the business by building and maintaining a reliable analytics platform.

You don't need to be an expert in
our
exact stack on day one—but you
do
need to show strong transferable skills and the curiosity to get hands-on with
AWS Redshift, Matillion ETL, and Looker
. If you like solving problems, improving performance, and building well-structured data models that people actually use, this is for you.

You Will

  • Maintain and enhance our cloud data warehouse (AWS Redshift) to support a wide range of analytical and reporting needs. Adopt the usage of our AWS cloud-based services.
  • Build and support data pipelines in Matillion, integrating data from APIs, ODBC sources, data lakes, and file-based formats
  • Monitor and optimise performance across Redshift and ETL workflows—improving reliability, cost, and speed.
  • Ensure Looker runs smoothly for the business, improving semantic models, dashboards, and user experience.
  • Support data quality and reconciliation, working with stakeholders to validate results between source systems and the data warehouse.
  • Document and promote best practices for data modelling, pipeline design, and reporting standards.
  • Work in an Agile delivery environment, collaborating closely with Data and business teams to deliver value iteratively.

You Are

  • A capable BI professional who combines technical skill with a service mindset. You enjoy partnering with stakeholders, you're comfortable with ambiguity, and you take pride in delivering accurate, robust outputs.
  • Confident working with large datasets, turning messy or complex information into clear, trusted outputs.
  • Experienced writing and tuning SQL (any flavour—Postgres, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, etc.), and comfortable getting hands-on when performance matters.
  • Familiar with data warehousing principles (e.g., modelling, transformations, data quality) and how to build structures people can rely on.
  • Comfortable with ETL/ELT concepts and tooling (such as Matillion, AWS Glue, ADF, SSIS, dbt, or similar) and the habits that keep pipelines resilient.
  • Experienced using BI platforms (Looker, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and understand the importance of consistent definitions, metrics, and a well-managed semantic layer.
  • A clear communicator who can translate stakeholder questions into deliverables, and explain results in a way that builds confidence.
  • Organised and delivery-minded—you take ownership, follow work through, and balance speed with accuracy.
  • Calm under pressure, able to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines without letting quality slip.
