Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, demonstrating expertise in diagnosing mechanical issues and performing necessary repairs. This role is essential to ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical problems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections on HGVS, Fleet Vehicles and Plant.
  • Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and manual methods, providing accurate assessments of required repairs.
  • Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Maintain detailed records of all work performed on vehicles, including parts used and time spent on repairs.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in automotive technology to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive repair are advantageous.
