Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom Norelo Ltd Full time £30,000 - £40,000 per year

About Norelo

Norelo is a forward-thinking reality capture and surveying company delivering measured building surveys, topographical surveys, and 3D digital models for clients across commercial, residential, heritage and infrastructure sectors. Using total stations, terrestrial laser scanners, and UAV photogrammetry/LiDAR, we create accurate, detailed drawings and models that bring built environments to life.

Job Overview

We're looking for an Architectural Technician who can transform laser scan data and site measurements into high-quality 2D drawings and 3D Revit models. You may also be able to undertake on-site measured building surveys, collecting accurate dimensional data using total stations, laser scanners, and handheld tools. This role bridges the gap between survey and design, ideal for someone who understands how buildings are put together and how to represent them precisely. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing precise technical drawings and schematics for a variety of projects, including architectural, construction, and system design. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise advanced CAD software and contribute to innovative design solutions within a collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, CloudWorx and SolidWorks.
  • Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings (floor plans, elevations, sections, details) from point clouds and field data.
  • Develop detailed 3D BIM/Revit models to agreed levels of detail (LOD 2–4).
  • Manage point cloud registration and data cleaning (Leica Cyclone, ReCap, CloudCompare).
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure drawings meet project specifications and standards.
  • Apply strong file management, naming conventions, QA procedures, and version control.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and client requirements.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience with CAD programmes such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, or SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of schematics, system design, construction processes, and graphic design principles.
  • Knowledge of CAD standards and best practices within architectural or engineering contexts.
  • Experience working with point clouds and laser scan data.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on producing accurate and high-quality work.
  • Relevant qualifications in architecture, engineering draughtsmanship or a related field are preferred but not essential. This position provides an engaging environment for creative professionals eager to develop their skills in a dynamic industry setting while contributing to innovative projects across various sectors.

What we offer

  • Salary: £30,000–£40,000 (DOE) + overtime/bonus potential.
  • Hybrid flexibility – office/home/site balance depending on project needs.
  • 25 days Annual Leave + 8 Public Holidays.
  • Pension, Life Assurance and Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Continuous training and CPD
  • Access to modern software & equipment: Leica RTC360, Cyclone, ReCap, AutoCAD, Revit, and cloud collaboration tools.
  • Opportunities to progress into senior or management roles as Norelo expands.
