We are the largest catering company in the UK and we're after casual Ward Hosts / Hostesses & Catering Assistants to join the Constellation team in the local area. We are looking for new team members to join our highly dedicated patient dining and restaurant cafe teams respectfully, who will be passionate about delivering outstanding patient care or deliver outstanding customer service.

Working Hours:

Constellation optimises the working schedules of Compass employees, so we can also help you work at over 5,000 venues across the UK on shifts that suit you.

For these specific roles, we're after staff to cover a rota that would include 5 days out of 7 with alternate weekend working; and patient feeding shifts doing or and restaurant café shifts of or

Main Responsibilities:

Ward Host / Hostess

  • Being polite, prompt and friendly to all patients, visitors & colleagues

  • Provide menus, taking orders from patients & help to support with all dietary & allergen queries

  • Prepare & deliver all drinks & meals for breakfast, lunch & dinner service

  • Clear down the ward areas & clean dirty dishes ensuring that the kitchen is fully prepared for the next service time

  • Liaise with the ward staff to ensure patients' needs are met in a timely manner

  • Offer great customer service by always putting the patient first

Catering Assistant

  • Being polite, prompt and friendly to all visitors & colleagues

  • Communicating with all visitors and colleagues to ensure smooth delivery.

  • Act in line with guidance and procedures from lead chef and/or manager, to ensure the team operates to its maximum potential.

  • Prepare hot & cold meals for the restaurant cafe

  • Lay out food & counter display so they look attractive & inviting

  • Use of tills & cash handling

  • To maintain the cleanliness & hygiene of the kitchen & restaurant to promote a safe working environment

Both

  • Comply with all company and unit policies with regards to Health & Safety, Food safety, Allergens, Hygiene, Manual Handling and COSHH.

  • Personally, demonstrating that you take responsibility for your own health and safety.

  • Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

  • Enjoy your work, smile and have fun

Skills / Qualifications

Must be customer focused at all times.

Awareness of food & hygiene standards and be able to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business.

Confident working in a hospital environment and aware that at times you will come in to contact with patients that are particularly unwell or showing signs of distress.

No experience is necessary as at the heart of our operation, we rely on individuals who share our energy and passion and who will assist in the delivery of exceptional experiences.
