We split our working time between the London Bridge newsroom, home, the hottest red-carpet events, and watching all of the TV shows the nation is obsessed with.The role:As a Showbiz Apprentice at The Sun, you will immerse yourself in the exciting world of entertainment journalism, gaining valuable experience alongside our seasoned showbiz team. You will have the opportunity to deliver exclusive entertainment news to our loyal audience who rely on us for daily gossip. You will be working in a fast-paced and exciting environment at The Sun writing about the biggest TV shows and the world's most famous faces, as well as reporting from red carpets, celebrity parties and press events.During your apprenticeship, you will receive mentoring and coaching bespoke to you and delivered by some of the most experienced showbiz journalists in the industry.At the end of the two-year programme, you'll complete your apprenticeship with great experiences, knowledge, a network in the TV and showbiz world and a journalism qualification.Being an apprentice at The Sun- is a gateway to a great career in journalism. During your time with us you will earn above living wage, get full training, four days a week with The Sun and one day a week studying – including an NCTJ Diploma in journalism – with all your course fees paid. You will also receive mentoring from the industry's best, as well as any other equity you might need to fulfil your full potential.Day to day you will:Research and report on the latest celebrity events and entertainment news, as well as covering film premieres, parties and junkets.Stay up-to-date with showbiz trends and developments to identify and suggest fresh and exciting story angles to the desk.Assist in conducting interviews with prominent figures in the entertainment industry.Have the opportunity to experience the thrill of live event coverage, attending awards shows and high-profile celebrity events.What we are looking for from you:A genuine love for all things entertainment - including TV shows, films, music, celebrity news, pop culture and podcasts.Strong writing skills and an ability to craft engaging content.A flexible attitude to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing showbiz landscape.Comfortable with various social media platforms and an understanding of how to engage an audience online.A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team.A thirst for entertainment knowledge and a willingness to dig deep for exclusive stories.Application ProcessOnline Application > Google Meet Interview > Assessment CentreAs part of the Online Application process, we would like you to provide answers to the following 3 questions:Briefly introduce yourself and tell us why you're interested in pursuing a career in the apprenticeship you've applied to?What interests you about the company you are applying to and suggest one improvement you would make to the content?Describe a learning curve you recently navigated.
