The Data & Analytics Intern position

Our Data & Analytics internship is open to penultimate year students who are interested in gaining an insight into the career of a Data & Analytics Specialist within consulting. It is an 8-week programme running from the beginning of July until the end of August.

L.E.K.'s Data & Analytics team supports case teams in solving a range of analytical problems, enabling L.E.K. to provide clients with the best possible advice. Our work covers sectors including Life Sciences and healthcare, retail and consumer, financial services, industrials, energy and transportation.

Over the 8-week internship, you will be working alongside consulting project teams to deliver analysis as well as on internal projects that are designed to expand our capabilities. You will be guided by analytical and commercial experts in understanding the commercial requirements and taking ownership of parts of the deliverables.

As part of your role, you will also get the opportunity to present your work to senior leaders and partners at L.E.K.

What we are looking for

In addition to academic achievement, we are looking for a sense of intellectual curiosity that will inspire you to develop a deep understanding of the commercial context, and to generate innovative answers to complex questions. We want people with the ability to think in logical, structured ways, together with the creativity to look beyond the obvious.

We work together in small teams, so we look for those who can collaborate and communicate well. Also, we look for those who will make an impact by being proactive and taking ownership of their work with energy and enthusiasm.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for people with a keen interest to get into the world of analytics and commercial problem solving. We want to hear of your experience solving problems through analysis and working with data using Python, SQL, R, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI, etc., as well as any experience in modern machine learning and optimisation techniques.

This position is open to candidates in their penultimate year of studies, preferably within a STEM or technology related field. We would expect (but not require) applicants to be working towards a 2:1 or higher.
