Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, possess strong management and leadership skills, and be committed to fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. Duties

  • Plan and deliver engaging educational activities tailored to the developmental needs of children in the nursery.
  • Supervise and support children during play, learning, and meal times, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
  • Organise and lead group activities that promote social skills, creativity, and early learning concepts.
  • Manage daily nursery operations, including ensuring cleanliness and organisation of the environment.
  • Support the professional development of junior staff members through mentoring and guidance.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as planning schedules and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Drive company vehicles when necessary to facilitate outings or pick-ups/drop-offs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
  • Strong management and leadership capabilities to oversee daily activities and team coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of childcare regulations, health & safety standards, and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Childcare qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience with nursery management systems is advantageous.
  • Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or equipment when required.
  • A caring attitude combined with organisational skills to create a welcoming environment for young learners.
