Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home specialising in senior care. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality support and supervision to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with supervisory experience and a genuine passion for elder care to make a meaningful difference in residents' lives. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, implementing care plans, and leading by example in delivering person-centred care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support, maintaining dignity and respect at all times
- Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and leadership to ensure consistent delivery of high standards of care
- Implement and review individualised care plans in collaboration with the wider care team, ensuring personalised support tailored to each resident's needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and resident progress using IT systems
- Foster positive communication with residents, their families, and team members to promote a supportive environment
- Support residents' social engagement by organising activities and encouraging participation in community events within the care home
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and infection control procedures
- Drive the organisation of daily routines within the care home to optimise residents' comfort and well-being
- Taking part in on-call duties.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior or elderly care is essential
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and team members
- Knowledge of care plans development and adherence to regulatory standards in elder care
- Proficiency in IT systems for documentation and communication purposes
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting older adults' quality of life
- NVQ level 3 or working towards.
