Job Overview

We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team to assist with kitchen cleanliness and preparations for meal times. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that food preparation and cooking processes run smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about cleanliness and food preparation and eager to gain experience .

Duties

  • Assist with meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as required
  • Support the cooking team in the preparation of dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste
  • Ensure all food safety regulations are followed, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
  • Help with serving meals to customers or clients during catering events or dining service
  • Participate in stock management, including inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed

Skills

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards
  • Basic cooking skills with an eagerness to learn more about culinary techniques
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and presentation
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities within a busy kitchen setting
  • A passion for food and a desire to develop culinary skills further
