Credit Analyst – Spanish or Italian Speaker | Global Financial Services | London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Credit Analyst
to join a leading global financial services organisation. This role sits within a high-performing Credit Risk team responsible for assessing a diverse portfolio of corporate, institutional, and individual clients across international markets.

You will take ownership of credit analysis for a portion of the client base, partnering with senior stakeholders to produce thorough, insightful assessments and well-structured recommendations for credit facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to deepen their expertise in commodities, financial markets, and global macroeconomic risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative credit analysis on a wide range of counterparties including corporates, financial institutions, individuals, and state-linked entities.
  • Assess the impact of global and country-specific macroeconomic trends on clients' creditworthiness.
  • Produce clear, well-argued recommendations for new credit facilities and renewals for senior management review.
  • Engage directly with clients domestically and internationally where needed.
  • Produce periodic and ad-hoc management information.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, guiding stakeholders on credit-related matters and leading credit facility review processes for your assigned portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships to support the firm's client service model.
  • Support the development and enhancement of credit risk policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Escalate relevant risks to senior team members when appropriate.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of
    corporate financial statement analysis
    , ideally gained from an investment banking, brokerage, or similar environment.
  • Demonstrable experience forming sound, well-researched credit conclusions, including internal credit ratings and recovery assessments.
  • Knowledge of credit risk associated with margin requirements for futures and options is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word; Bloomberg experience is a plus.
  • Experience reviewing clients within the
    commodities sector
    is beneficial.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Italian
    is essential.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with an understanding of risk and compliance requirements.
  • Degree (or equivalent) or relevant work experience.
