Job Title: Quality Team Leader

Location: North East (Multi-Site)

Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum

Hours: Primary shift pattern: Mon – Fri – times to be agreed with QM; Support shift cover may be required

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Quality Team Leader to oversee and support quality assurance operations across two production sites. This is a key role in driving continuous improvement, maintaining compliance with ISO9001, PS9000, and BRCGS standards, and fostering a strong food safety and quality culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead investigations into internal and external non-conformances using RCA and CAPA.
  • Support audits and customer visits.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality matters.
  • Act as the first point of contact for production quality issues.
  • Promote and enforce hygiene and quality standards.
  • Manage and maintain QMS documentation.
  • Analyse production samples and inspect finished goods.
  • Support containment and sorting of faulty materials.
  • Conduct raw material testing and internal audits.
  • Monitor GMP, BBQ, G&P, and audit performance; publish results and manage non-conformances.
  • Oversee quality inspection rounds and daily QA activities.
  • Plan tasks to meet customer expectations and performance targets.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Quality Manager or Deputy.

  • Timely completion of duties.
  • Reduction in customer complaints and increased satisfaction.
  • Achievement of monthly European targets.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential: Previous QA experience in manufacturing (food, print, or packaging).
  • Essential: Internal/external auditing experience.
  • Essential: RCA and CAPA knowledge.
  • Essential: Familiarity with global standards.
  • Essential: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Desirable: ERP system experience (Avante – training provided).
  • Essential: Full UK Driving Licence.
