Are you a detail-oriented investigator with a passion for justice and public service? Join our Internal Audit Investigation Service and help protect public funds across Lancashire through expert financial investigation and legal precision.

As a Financial Investigator, you will:

  • Lead complex investigations into fraud and misconduct, supporting the Council's commitment to ethical conduct and financial integrity.
  • Apply for Crown Court production orders and secure search and seizure warrants to obtain critical evidence.
  • Work closely with legal teams, senior investigators, and external partners to ensure legal procedures are followed with professionalism.
  • Contribute to high-profile cases that impact communities and leadership across Lancashire.
  • Support the development of fraud prevention frameworks and help the Council meet national standards and legislative requirements.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in financial investigation related to fraud.
  • Understanding of production and seizure order requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with legal professionals and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads independently and use technology effectively.
  • A relevant counter fraud or financial investigation qualification—or willingness to work towards one.
