Administrative Assistant

We are a friendly, patient-focused dental practice in Gateshead seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our Practice Manager. This part-time role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills and a proactive, flexible approach. Experience is preferred but not essential — full training will be provided by the Practice Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage patient accounts and maintain accurate financial records
- Process monthly bills and liaise with suppliers
- Conduct banking twice weekly (minimum 2 days apart)
- Assist with the transition from Simplex D to Xero accounting software
- Draft and manage safeguarding letters with professionalism and discretion
- Promote and enrol patients into our Practice Plan membership scheme
- Liaise with patients when required, providing clear and supportive communication
- Support the Practice Manager with general administrative tasks within your capability
Requirements
- Experience in basic bookkeeping or accounts administration (preferred but not essential)
- Familiarity with Simplex D and/or Xero (desirable but can be taught)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and care
- A flexible, dependable team player with a willingness to learn
