Receptionist

We have an excellent new vacancy for Receptionist at The Gretna Chase Hotel.

Objective of the Role

The Receptionist is the first person that a guest meets on arrival to the Hotel, therefore it is of upmost importance that all staff present a friendly and professional image to our guests at all times.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome our guests to the Hotel.
  • Register the guests and take payment.
  • Answer any queries the guest may have on in house facilities and tourist information.
  • Take responsibility for the security of the keys.
  • Update all guest information in the computer.
  • Take and confirm reservations to our guests.
  • All day to day admin book keeping and cashing up the tills.

Wedding coordinating

An important aspect of the role would be setting up the function room for wedding receptions and making sure the kitchen team and the Waiting Team are up to date with the Happy Couple's requests.

Ideally the candidate would need to be flexible within the role as on occasions it may mean helping out in other areas. i.e bar work etc.

Requirements:

Excellent customer care skills.

Be able to work on your own initiative.

Excellent communication skills.

Be able to cope well under pressure.

Bring new ideas to the workplace.

Ideal but not necessary

Knowledge of Guestline/ Rezlynx booking system would be advantageous but full training would be given.

Working shifts would be variable and include Monday to Friday and weekends. The Candidate would need to be available to work day time shifts 7.00am-3.00pm and evening shifts 3.00pm-11pm/till finish depending on the functions.

With 19 guest bedrooms, a bar and restaurant and regarded as one of the top wedding venues in Gretna, we are looking to expand our opening hours and build on the current offerings.

Experience in a similar role would ideal.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
