The Royal Oak a small, community focused pub & kitchen situated in the heart of Weston Village. Our focus is as much about the service as it is our food, however, the food offering is key for generating growth within our vision. The Royal Oak is operated by DMI Hopsitality Ltd which manages the food franchise at the pub through our branded Deadman's Kitchen. Deadman's Kitchen (previously Deadman Ink Tattoo Cafe) is a well established, award winning operation that has been open for nearly 3 years. This Sous Chef opportunity comes on the back of our planned growth and expansion.

Summary

We're looking for a high calibre Sous Chef that is a natural leader with a hands on attitude. This position plays a significant part in delivering exceptional dining experiences by ensuring high standards of food preparation and service while embodying our values of hospitality and community engagement.

Responsibilities

Supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and adherence to safety standards.

  • Oversee food production processes to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Manage team dynamics to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to menu specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Train new staff on culinary techniques and restaurant policies.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source fresh, local ingredients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen.

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment.

  • Strong background in food production and preparation techniques.
  • Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead by example.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Culinary experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is an asset.
  • Strong leadership qualities with effective communication skills.
