The role:

  • The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will ensure full compliance with UK, EU, and global food and feed safety, quality, and defence standards, including Organic, Halal, FAMI QS, Kosher, and GFSI (BRC) requirements.
  • As Regulatory Affairs Specialist, you will monitor legislative and regulatory changes, assess their impact on the business, and update senior management compliance protocols as needed.
  • The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will support the development and implementation of regulatory strategies for new and existing ingredients, covering allergens, REACH, Novel Foods, packaging, labelling, feed laws, residues, contaminants, and natural/botanical ingredients.
  • The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will be responsible for providing regulatory reviews of products for the quality team, coordinate with authorities on authorisations and licences, and maintain accurate product specifications in line with EU regulations.
  • As Regulatory Affairs Specialist, you will deliver regulatory training and support to quality, technical, commercial, and marketing teams across Europe to ensure compliance in all areas.
  • The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will actively contribute to QA tasks and assist in crisis and incident management as part of the wider management team.
  • It is preferred that this role will be Hybrid with expectations to be in the office 2 days a week. They are also open to candidates across the UK and will consider a remote contract if the commute is ~2hrs+. Note that with a remote contract you would still be expected to visit the office 1-2 times a month.

Ideal candidate:

  • You will have 5+years of technical or regulatory experience within the functional ingredients, food, feed, fine chemicals, pharmaceutical ingredients, or chemical distribution industries (Ingredients or Raw Materials experience is
    highly preferred
    )
  • You'll be highly analytical, organised, and able to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
  • EU food regulatory experience is mandatory for this role. Unfortunately, candidates without this experience won't be considered and healthcare/beauty regulations experience won't be considered unless you also have food ingredients/raw materials experience
  • The role is fast paced, and no two days will be the same so you will be dynamic and able to identify problems quickly to deliver effective solutions.
  • You'll be a team player, working professionally and inclusively with colleagues at all levels.
  • You must have a high standard of business English and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office on Windows.
  • You will be self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • You must be comfortable commuting
    5 days a week into the office
    . Note there is no opportunity for hybrid working for this opportunity.
