Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Band 6 Locum Paediatric Audiologist to join the team at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full-time, 6-month locum position that requires covering a paediatric audiology caseload. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing hearing conditions in children, providing a range of audiological interventions, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to paediatric patients. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive environment at a respected NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for managing a paediatric audiology caseload, conducting hearing assessments, and performing diagnostic tests such as pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, and speech audiometry. The role involves fitting and maintaining hearing aids and other auditory devices for paediatric patients and providing ongoing support and education to families about hearing impairment and treatment options. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including paediatricians, speech therapists, and ENT specialists, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care. Additionally, you will be required to document and maintain accurate patient records in accordance with trust guidelines and professional standards, participate in team meetings, and contribute to case discussions and clinical decision-making. Throughout, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care in line with NHS policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- HCPC registered Audiologist.
- Experience in paediatric audiology, with a strong understanding of paediatric hearing assessments and management.
- Knowledge and experience in the fitting and maintenance of hearing aids for children.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous experience working in an NHS setting is desirable.
- Ability to manage a varied and demanding caseload.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).
