Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and creative Photography and Art Teacher to inspire students through engaging and innovative art lessons. The successful candidate will foster a love for visual arts, develop students' technical skills, and encourage self-expression. This school is a specialist school for children aged between 8 - 16, with a primary diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition. The school is Ofsted Outstaning and has excellent facilities and a reputation for excellent peer-to-peer support.
This role involves 14 teaching 14 lessons per week within Art and Photography, the remainder of the timetable will be made up coveirng other lessons, to ensure a full time contract. You will be required to undertake planning and marking.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging art lessons tailored to various age groups and skill levels, incorporating different mediums such as photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, and digital art.
- Develop customised curricula that align with educational standards whilst encouraging creativity and individual expression.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their artistic development.
- Organise exhibitions or showcases of student work to celebrate achievements and promote confidence.
- Maintain a well-organised classroom environment conducive to creative exploration and safe practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects that integrate art with other subjects.
- Support students in developing technical skills, including colour theory, composition, perspective, and use of various tools and materials.
- Participate in school events, workshops, and community outreach programmes related to arts education.
Qualifications
- A recognised qualification in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related discipline or relevent experience teaching for 3 + years.
- Prior experience teaching art at school or community level is desirable but not essential; training opportunities are available for new entrants.
- Strong knowledge of art techniques, materials, and contemporary practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging lessons effectively.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for inspiring students of all ages and abilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: £16.00-£30.00 per hour
