Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team at a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to senior care. This role involves supervising care staff, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring the highest standards of resident wellbeing. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital part in creating a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for our residents. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise care staff to deliver high-quality personal and clinical care in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, medication management, and nutrition.
  • Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families.
  • Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly.
  • Foster a positive environment that promotes dignity, independence, and respect for all residents.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure cohesive care delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and organisational policies at all times.

Experience

  • Previous experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care is essential.
  • Supervising experience demonstrating leadership capabilities within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in IT systems relevant to care documentation and reporting.
  • Driving experience or possession of a valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting resident outings or appointments.
