Scheduler / Project Coordinator

The Role:

Leidos is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Scheduler to join our Civil division. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in coordinating project timelines, resources, and activities to ensure excellence in programme execution within the Civil Division Programmes.

This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, coaching project and programme managers in Scheduling best practice.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor schedules spanning multiple projects and programmes using industry-standard scheduling tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project Server, PWA).
  • Ensure project schedule is integrated and aligned with program objectives, timelines, and milestones.
  • Collaborate with project managers, team leads, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project schedules and priorities. Facilitate regular scheduling meetings and updates.
  • Identify scheduling risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
  • Track project timelines, identify potential delays, and provide recommendations for corrective actions to keep projects on schedule.
  • Generate regular progress reports, including schedule updates, milestone status, and performance metrics. Communicate updates to project managers, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Conduct "what-if" analysis to predict potential impacts of changes to the project schedule. Provide scenarios and recommendations for decision-making based on these analyses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project scheduling documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and resource allocation records.
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of scheduling conflicts and constraints, working collaboratively to find feasible solutions.
  • Contribute towards the creation and ongoing maintenance of PMO documentation and overall Integrated Master Schedule
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in project scheduling and contribute to the development of best practices.

What does Leidos need from me?

  • Demonstrable experience (4+ years) in Project Scheduling, preferably within a Technology, Engineering, or Defence-related industry.
  • Proficiency in scheduling tools and software such as Microsoft Project or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of Project Management principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address scheduling challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMQ/PPQ, ChPP, MSP) is a plus.
