Job Description:

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and tech-savvy Shop Assistant & Repair Technician to join our growing team in Kettering. This dual-role position involves assisting customers in-store and carrying out repairs on a wide range of devices, including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, PCs, and other electronic gadgets.

Key Responsibilities:Customer Service & Sales (Shop Assistant duties):

  • Greet customers and provide excellent face-to-face service
  • Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products or services
  • Manage till operations, handle payments, and process transactions
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor
  • Keep up-to-date with product knowledge, promotions, and new arrivals

Technical Repairs:

  • Diagnose and repair mobile phones (screen replacements, battery issues, charging ports, etc.)
  • Repair and troubleshoot laptops, computers, tablets, and other electronic devices
  • Perform software installations, virus removals, and system optimisations
  • Test devices post-repair to ensure full functionality
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs and parts used
  • Handle devices with care and maintain a clean, organised repair workstation

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in device repair (minimum 1 year preferred)
  • Strong interest in technology and electronics
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
  • Basic IT and software troubleshooting skills
  • Punctual, trustworthy, and customer-focused

Desirable but Not Essential:

  • Experience with micro soldering and motherboard-level repairs
  • Knowledge of data recovery and backup tools
  • Retail or sales experience in a similar environment
